The 2015 event was held on Father’s day. For that reason, the committee decided to hold the Honouring Our Men Recognition Awards.

The National Aboriginal Day Men’s recognition award recognized men for honouring and demonstrating the teachings of the Seven Grandfathers: Wisdom, Love, Respect, Bravery, Honesty, Humility and Truth.

The awards were given to seven outstanding First Nations, Métis or Inuit leaders, mentors and individuals who has made a major difference in the lives of Aboriginal people in the Thunder Bay area.

– Marc Laliberty
– John Dixon
– Leonard Pelletier

Along with the awards, each man present at the event was gifted with a fire bag and honoured with a dance.
